Brief biography about Biljana Angelova Ph.D.

Biljana Angelova was born in Skopje. She completed graduate and postgraduate studies at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, and in 1999, she earned a Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Economics.

She employed in the Institute of Economics in 1992, and was appointed in continuity in subsequent academic positions. She was appointed as Research professor – Full time professor of Business Finance for the first time in 2007, and reappointed in Full time Professor of Financial Management in 2012.

In the period from 2006-2008 she was the Head of postgraduade study in International Management and since 2008 she became Head of postgraduate study in Financial Management. She was first Head of doctorial study in Organizational Sciences -Management 2012-2016 at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje.

From November 2009 to September 2016 she was twice elected for the Director of the Institute of Economics – Skopje.

In June 2016 she was elected for Vicerector for finance, investments and development at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius”, and she is again elected on the same position in September 2020 for the mandate period 2020-2023.

Since 2016 to 2023 she is a prezidet of the Commission for Finance at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” and the president of the Commision for publishing at the University.

Since 2016 she has represented University in the Board of Confucius Institute and she permanently contribute to upgrade and develop scientific and cultural cooperation between University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius”and the University for Banking and Finance in Cangdu, Republic of China.

Starting from 2018 she participates in founding university company for technology transfer and innovations INNOFET DOOEL Skopje and she is the first president of Supervizory Board.

Since 2018 she is permanently engaged in running activities for promotion and support the Accelerator of University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius”

She has been a member of the Council for verification of foreign high education diplomas at the Ministry of education and science in the field of social sciences and humanities since 2011 to 2017. She was the initiator and the first President of the International Association of Southeast Europe institutes of economics in the period 2012-2013. In 2016 she was elected for independent member of the Supervisory Board of Halk Bank Skopje. She has participated in establishing the Academy of Banking and Information Technology, recognized in implementation proffesional trainings for employees in banks where she was appointed as Vice President of the Academic Board in 2014. At the same year she was appointed for President of the Commission on Awarding Decorations and Recognitions of the President of the Republic of Macedonia.

She is an author of more than 70 scientific papers published in international journals and presented at conferences, 10 textbooks and course materials. She participated in realisation of great number of research and applicative projects.  She has undertaken numerous study visits abroad.
