The new model of doctoral studies at UKIM, following the example of developed European universities, is the first of its kind, not only in the country, but also in the Balkans. The concept of organizing doctoral studies at the School of Doctoral Studies is one of the basic characteristics of the University’s integrative action.

Institute of economics participates in the realization of joint third cycle studues, namely:

  1. Economic sciences- Faculty of Economics and Institute of Economics.
  2. Organizational Sciences and Management – Faculty of Economics  Institute of Economics and Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research.

Doctoral studies LAST FOR AT LEAST THREE YEARS AND OFFER 180 ECTS CREDITS

The study program consists of:

  1. research training, 30 ECTS credits;
  2. education, 30 ECTS credits;
  3. application, preparation and public defense of doctoral thesis, 120 ECTS credits.

Research training consists of:

  • three subjects for acquiring generic knowledge and research skills, 12 ECTS credits (all subjects from this group have 4 credits), such as: course Scientific research ethics, one course from the group of subjects Methodology of scientific research work, One course from the List of elective courses from the third group of courses for acquiring generic knowledge and research skills – University list of elective courses from the third cycle of studies ;
  • doctoral seminar, conferences and research practice workshop, 18 ECTS credits.

The education covers courses from the field and/or area of research, 30 ECTS credits.

The enrollment of students at doctoral studies in the study programs of Demography, Economic Sciences and Organizational Sciences and Management , as well as the list of mentors for the academic year 2013/14 is published on the University’s website www.ukim.edu.mk.
