Brief biography about Tatjana Petkovska-Mirchevska Ph.D.

Tatjana Petkovska Mirchevska is full professor in the field of Marketing. She graduated in 1989, received her master’s degree in 1993 and her doctorate in 1998 at the Faculty of Economics at “Ss. Cyril and Methodius “in Skopje. She received the “July 26th” award from Frank Harkord Manning Foundation – London as the best student of the generation and a Certificate of Acknowledgement from the Faculty of Economics at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius “Skopje.

In 1994, she has been elected and employed as an assistant researcher at the Institute of Economics at University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius “. In 1998 she was elected assistant professor/research associate, in 2002 associate professor/senior research associate, and in 2007 full professor /research advisor. In 2012 she was re-elected full professor in the field of Marketing.

Since 1998, she has been continuously involved in the teaching activities of the three cycles of studies.

In the first cycle of studies, she was a professor and a lecturer of the subjects:

  • Marketing information system, Faculty of Economics – Prilep, University “St. Kliment Ohridski”- Bitola;
  • Marketing Management and E-business, Faculty of Business Economics and Management, University American College – Skopje;
  • International Marketing, Faculty of Economics, “Ss. Cyril and Methodius “Skopje;
  • Marketing in tourism, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius “Skopje and
  • Marketing Management, Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius “Skopje.

Since 1999, at the second cycle of studies, she teaches at the following higher education institutions:

  • Institute of Economics, University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” (all study programs);
  • School of Business Economics and Management, American College University, subject: International Marketing.
  • Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius”, study program Management of Occupational Safety and Health Systems, subject: Corporate Public Relations.

On the third cycle of studies she is part of the teaching teams of the joint study programs Economics and Organizational Sciences (Management) with the Faculty of Economics and Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research (ISSPI) at University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” Skopje.

She is a mentor and a member of the commissions for defense of master’s and doctoral theses of the Institute of Economics, Faculty of Economics and other higher education institutions in the country.

Up to this point, she has published several textbooks and a significant number of papers in relevant scientific publications. She participates in numerous international scientific conferences. She has been a leader and participant in scientific and application projects and a member of expert groups for the implementation of several national strategies.

She completed study visits abroad, of which the individual mobility at the University of Bologna in Italy and the Internship in the Investment and Trade Development Agency in Budapest, Hungary stand out as more significant.

Since 1999, she has been a member of the Editorial Board of the reference scientific international journal Amphitheatre Economic, published by the Academia de studii Economice din Bucuresti from Romania. In 2017 and 2018 she was the Team leader from the Institute of Economics for preparation of the SEE-6 Economic Outlook published by the SEEA Association.

From October 2016 to October 2018 she is the Editor-in-chief, and in the period 2018-2021 a member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Economic Development”.

She performed several functions and participated in various commissions at the Institute of Economics and at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius”. She was President of the Scientific Council, President of the Institute management Board, Head of the Teaching Department, Member of the Institute management Board, President and Member of the Self-Evaluation Commission, Coordinator for ERASMUS, Member of the Scientific Council, Member of the Commission for Cooperation and Trust of the Institute of Economics etc. From September 2016 to January 2018 she was the acting Director and Director of the Institute of Economics. In the period from 2013-2017 she is the Head of the postgraduate studies in Entrepreneurship, and from 2017 to 2019 the Head of the one-year postgraduate studies in Managerial Economics.In two consecutive terms (2008 – 2012 and 2012 – 2016) she was a member of the Senate, and from September 2016 to January 2018, a member of Rector’s Board of the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius”. In the period 2012 – 2020, in two consecutive terms, she was elected by the Senate as one of the representative’s members of the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius “at the Inter-University Conference of the Republic of North Macedonia.
